Bridgewater Family Dental To Reopen With Added Safety Precautions During COVID-19
Family Dental Practice Announces Plan to Reopen June 8 With New Safety Procedures and Precautionary Measures, Protecting Patients and Staff Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic
Bridgewater Family Dental recently announced plans for its reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic, unveiling new safety procedures in alignment with the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), American Dental Association (ADA), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Bridgewater Family Dental plans to open on June 8, 2020 and will be conducting its full range of specialty procedures and checkups, as previous to its temporary closing.
Upon arrival, all patients will be sat six feet apart and wear masks inside office reception rooms, in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Appointments will also be made farther apart to reduce waiting room capacity.
Patients will have their temperature taken before their appointments, and staff will have their temperature taken both at the beginning and end of each day.
Office hallways have been installed with UV light air purifiers, which use UV light to inactivate airborne pathogens like bacteria and viruses. Rooms have also been outfitted with both intraoral and extraoral suction units, made to vastly decrease and filter out the amount of respiratory droplets put into the air during examinations and cleanings.
All clinicians will be wearing personal protection equipment (PPE), including gloves, masks, face shields, and medical gowns. Hand sanitizer will also be plentifully available for both patients and staff to use.
“These new safety precautions are essential,” said Dr. Marwan Bassil, the primary dentist at Bridgewater Family Dental. “Our biggest concern is to not only keep our patients and staff safe during their interactions within our office but keep our spaces safe and clean from patient to patient because we see multiple people every day.”
Continuing to abide by their previous sanitary standards, all used rooms will be sanitized after a patient is seen before any new patients enter any treatment rooms.
“We look forward to reopening and seeing our patients, both new and returning,” continued Dr. Bassil, “we want to make sure that our patients feel safe returning to our office, and that our staff feels safe and able to provide the same level of quality care we have previously.”
